$81.9 billion is now available thanks to federal relief support via the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF II) Grant. The federal bill provides an Education Stabilization Fund (ESF) supporting the educational needs of learners, states, school districts and higher education institutions, including simulation efforts, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The HEERF II grant succeeds the 2020 CARES Act and provides continued educational support. Institutions can determine their eligibility for funds by applying no later than April 15, 2021.
The impact of COVID-19 highlights the particular funding need for the educational community who have been directly impacted by closures and regulatory changes instituted to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. Available funding can support institutions as they continue evolving and innovating to provide effective clinical education and simulation.
